Ping / Lag Spikes.

My internet has been spiking for over a month now (found out on CS GO using netgraph) and still got no fix. We have rung Virgin Media and they just told us to reset the router etc but there hasn't been an actual fix. It's not only my games because whenever im on teamspeak it will lag the voices then as soon as they come back i will see my ping shoot up to around 150 then it will go back down then back up again around 20 seconds later. Thanks in advance for all the help and i hope this gets resolved as soon as possible.

Re: Ping / Lag Spikes.

Are you on the Superhub 3? I get very similar latency issues that seem to be tied to the SH3 itself.

Re: Ping / Lag Spikes.

I'm having the same issue with CSGO. I recently moved house where I had the cheapest BT option because fibre wasn't available. However I still had a constant 4-5 ping with no spikes. Now I'm on Virgin fibre in a house just down the road and have around 40-50 ping with lag spikes. I've disabled the firewall to see if there's any improvement. I just ran the Ookla speed test. Ping is 9ms, download is 52.83 mbps and upload is 3.25mbps?!

Re: Ping / Lag Spikes.

I've been having similar issues for a while now. Always between 10 pm and 11:30 pm with no known reason. This has been happening for several months now and is as regular as anything, every night without fail I will have an hour and a half of lag spikes intermittently.

Re: Ping / Lag Spikes.

I have around the same download / upload speed. I get around 55mb download and around 3-4mb upload. It happens all through the day, not just during the evening which is even more strange. We have asked Virgin themselves what the problem was and they said that nothing was wrong but if the ping is spiking then something must be causing it and i have tried on other computers at home and the ping has also been quite high.

Re: Ping / Lag Spikes.

Hi mica858

Welcome to the community and thanks for posting.

I'm sorry to read that you are experiencing high ping spikes.

I've taken a look at your connection, the line and hub have come back as fine. The network segment is running stable with no errors.

For a better understanding of this issue, can you post ping tests and trace route results please? Also you can set up a Broadband Quality Monitor to check the performance of the connection.

Let me know how you get on
Sam
