PS4 disconnection issue

Hello, recently just got VM fibre 200 installed, but when I am playing online there are numerous dropped connections. The games I play tell me that my connection is bad and it drops out altogether some times. I have changed the cat 5 cable to the PS4 and the port being used on the router. Please can you investigate
Thanks
Nick

Re: PS4 disconnection issue

Make a quality graph using https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality

Monitor for about day, then post a graph here.

This will help us seeing what kind of issue you may have.

Re: PS4 disconnection issue

Hello, thanks for the interest in helping me fix this. The direct link to the graph is https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality/share/d52dcdefc180026c80983612502e8b2131...

This is the latest one, with a number of dropped packets

Is there anything you can advise?

Thanks
Nick

Re: PS4 disconnection issue

Your connection does not look particularly bad (for superhub 3 anyway) but these packet drops are somewhat suspicious.

Please copy-and-paste your downstream and upstream stats from your superhub.

Re: PS4 disconnection issue

Signal stats looks fine, but you don't seem to have packet drops right now.

Try waiting until you will start getting packet drops, then re-post the channel stats right when it happening.

Re: PS4 disconnection issue

Well your power levels are still withing spec (though upstream and downstream both should be bit higher).

Since graph shows no drops, your connection functioning fine. Any kind of cabling trouble will show as packet loss and its not the case now.

I see a bit of latency increase, but I don't know where this came from - the game itself, or maybe some background download?

I guess its possible that this is some kind of intermittent local congestion - but these are usually not that subtle.

Re: PS4 disconnection issue

There are no background downloads, and nothing else using the wifi apart from the PS4. The reason I got this vm package was because I wanted top class gaming but lots of the forums I read say it's the fault of the super hub 3. Do you think that is the cause of the latency?
