I try to test my connection and it fails at the first step saying it does not have an ip to connect to for a wired connection, any help would be appreciated
Welcome to the forum Everything on your hub is looking ok when checking.
Are other devices able to connect using the ethernet cable?
Can you try a reboot of the hub once you have connected the Ethernet cable to your Xbox 360 and see if it progresses any further?
Are you selecting manual or automatic set up?
If you plug the ethernet cable into another port on the hub do both lights come on?
