Latency/ping issues online gaming

Howdy.

I believe I have 200mb internet, provided by VM. Been a loyal customer for like 15 years now, but its just getting worse and worse.

After work, I come home to game, and now its pretty much unplayable. 150ms in say League of Legends, with lag spikes up to 500.

Why is this? Is it me or is my upload speed ridiculously low?

I used to be able to download, stream, game all fine. Now just gaming, I have constant lagging issues.

I have a SuperHub2 modem by the way. speedtestspeedtest

Re: Latency/ping issues online gaming

I'm having the exact same issues. Up until recently the connection has been fine but the last few weeks have been infuriating, not to mention partly due to the uselessness of the VM support team on the issue.

Where I play playstation has been a bit of a dark spot since getting VM so I have been using a power line adaptor to connect and have had no issues until recently. Constant spikes in latency and randomly disconnecting from the wifi for 5-10 minutes. I've tried multiple corrective measures such as setting up a static ip address, opening ports, purchasing a new powerline adaptor in case the one I had was faulty but still the same issues. I've read in some forms that the VM super hub 3 may be to blame but I have no evidence to support that.

If you manage to find a solution, I'd love to hear about it.

SH2 like yourself and experiencing constant ping spikes and packet loss.

Here is how a properly functioning internet connection should look.

Set yours up and see how it looks.

Re: Latency/ping issues online gaming

Sorry to hear about this elmorgan,

I've located your account and I'm unable to detect any network faults related to your connected cable at the moment.

There are, however, a number of timeouts developing via the equipment levels.

I'd like to arrange for an engineer to investigate this for you. I've sent you a private message so that we can discuss this further.

Hope to hear back from you soon,

Nat_J
