Latency issues

Hi there.

For last couple of weeks I experience unusual latency increase while gaming (especially on weekends). I have checked with game developer (BioWare, I play SWTOR) and they said, the issue is with my internet provider. I have 9% packet loss and 779 MS ping. Any idea what may be the source of my problem?

Regards

Falka (Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, area 030)

Re: Latency issues

We need to see if its your WAN connection or LAN connection dropping..Can you set up BQM

HERE

Run it for say 24 hrs, and post the result.

Dont forget youll need to make sure your super hub is configured to reply to ICMP echo requests...

 Also

So we can help us to help you, can you

Go to your Superhub Log in screen

Do NOT log in.

Little button top right.....

Can you post Upstream, Downstream and Network logs.

Screen caps are nice, C&P will do- Don't stress about formatting if you C&P. Someone will get a look and see if there's anything obvious amiss.

Re: Latency issues

How do you connect to your HUB? Wired/wireless?

Does the increased latency follow a pattern? EG evenings and weekends?

Re: Latency issues

I have wireless connection.

It happens mostly at weekends (in week as well, but not very often) at any time, I experience massive lagspike and then (not always) disconnect from internet. I have checked on my other devices (tablet and mobile). When I got lagspike on my PC, it looks like connection reset on mobile.

Re: Latency issues

Hello there

Well, Network Log has no entries at all so it is pointless to post it.

Re: Latency issues

Downstream power levels are over spec.

Wait for staff to pick it up and decide what to do next. Likely you ll need a tech out.

Youll never get a brilliant connection for gaming over Wi-Fi, but if the downstream power is sorted, it should at least stop kicking you off. Wired or homeplugs are far better.

Re: Latency issues

Well I don't expect a perfect connection at all. But I am Virgin Media customer since 2009 and this is first time when I can't play. I just want a stable connection, like I used to have before it all started.
