Lag spikes

Hi, we have recently started to experience lots of lag spikes over last few weeks. Overall our internet download speeds are as advertised and without a problem (as shown on the test graph below), but these spikes are now disrupting any games that are being played. Everyone here is using Ethernet cables to connect to the router, so it's not a wifi problem.

I have tried calling customer support, but weren't able to offer any help Smiley Sad

You are getting spikes due to maxing out your limits none of the super hubs have QoS so when you max your limit in either download or upload you buffer.

You can run a speed test like this then check your BQM it will spike at the same time due to the reason above.

I've also had problems with bad lag in the past few weeks and its getting worse by the day. I play WoWS and it becomes unplayable after a while, this weekend was especially bad. Virgin say all my equipment is working fine as is their lines and can do nothing to help. What the hell Vigin, we pay you for a service so fix this damned problem. My ping climbs to 300 or so every 5-10 seconds throughout most of the day. All was fine before they started their upgrades.

Same here from last few weeks...I play World of Warcraft and game is unplayable...

Thanks for the feedback on QoS, which was very interesting. Not sure how that stacks up with my latest graph though, as no-one was using the internet for most of that time to cause any buffering issues Smiley Sad

An auto update, download by Steam or online backup could of happened you have no visibility or log of amount or rate of bandwidth happening that could be done by you.

If your using router mode and the SH1 and its ramping thats another problem so use modem mode.

Doesn't look like my graph uploaded with my last post, so here is the latest one. Nothing going on in the house between around midnight to 7am to justify all those spikes Smiley Sad

This new forum has some posting problems that cause strange gaps in copy and paste so pulled it from source code

I would say you need to reboot it if your in router mode you could run it in modem mode over night with a new BQM which will likely show better.
