Hi, we have recently started to experience lots of lag spikes over last few weeks. Overall our internet download speeds are as advertised and without a problem (as shown on the test graph below), but these spikes are now disrupting any games that are being played. Everyone here is using Ethernet cables to connect to the router, so it's not a wifi problem.
I have tried calling customer support, but weren't able to offer any help
I've also had problems with bad lag in the past few weeks and its getting worse by the day. I play WoWS and it becomes unplayable after a while, this weekend was especially bad. Virgin say all my equipment is working fine as is their lines and can do nothing to help. What the hell Vigin, we pay you for a service so fix this damned problem. My ping climbs to 300 or so every 5-10 seconds throughout most of the day. All was fine before they started their upgrades.
Thanks for the feedback on QoS, which was very interesting. Not sure how that stacks up with my latest graph though, as no-one was using the internet for most of that time to cause any buffering issues
