Re: Lag spikes when playing games.

So we can help us to help you, can you

Go to your Superhub Log in screen

Do NOT log in.

Little button top right.....

Can you post Upstream, Downstream and Network logs.

Screen caps are nice, C&P will do- Don't stress about formatting if you C&P. Someone will get a look and see if there's anything obvious amiss.

Re: Lag spikes when playing games.

looks okay

How are you connecting (wired or wireless)?

Is it better at different times of day?

What sort of speed tests are you getting?

Re: Lag spikes when playing games.

I am using wired connection on my pc and get the lag and my xbox is also wired and i get lag. It doesnt matter what time of day or night it always happens

This is my most recent speedtest. I am meant to be getting 100mb/s but as you can see its not quite there.

Re: Lag spikes when playing games.

No reason so far your devices should be lagging...

Speeds are good, ping is low.- and thats during peak times (more or less)

Weird..

Set up a BQM

HERE

Run it for say 24 hrs, and post the result.

Dont forget youll need to make sure your super hub is configured to reply to ICMP echo requests...

But I suspect something LAN side...

Are you running any P2P or streaming software?

Re: Lag spikes when playing games.

I will try what you have advised.

No i am not using a P2P or streaming service.

If you want i could load up a game and ping google.com through the windows command prompt

Re: Lag spikes when playing games.

Post a tracert to a server you are using without making any changes to your setup...

If possible can you set SHub to modem mode, run the same tracert and post it too?

Re: Lag spikes when playing games.

This is the first trace route without the modem mode on

Re: Lag spikes when playing games.

Assuming the first is modem mode and second is router mode?

You can see yourself where the problem is. First hop is a horror picture latency wise in second (router mode)

So basically either you have overutilisation and the general latency is increased, and you just happened to get a low one in modem mode..

Or superhub router side is playing up.

Staff will need to get a look to confirm which, I suspect the second Smiley Wink
