Lag Spikes after new 200Mbps Upgrade

I have just been upgraded to the new 200Mbps Broadband which includes the new Super hub 2.

This was installed at about 11:30am.  Prior to this I was on 100Mbps on the Super Hub and played online games with no problem whatsoever.  Since the new hub has been installed I am getting Massive pings spikes and disconnections.  Basically online play is impossible.  I am even getting lag on Web pages.

I seem to remember when I first got the Super hub one I had similar problems and some changes were made to my account and this rectified them.

I play:  Path of Exile, Diablo3, Hearthstone, World of Warcraft.

Hope you can help.

Re: Lag Spikes after new 200Mbps Upgrade

Turning my Super Hub to Modem mode and everything works great again. Unfortunately as I have 3 girls all with iphones and ipads. This is not acceptable. I am area 22, if that makes a difference.

Re: Lag Spikes after new 200Mbps Upgrade

This is not just lag.  It appears that the Broadband is dropping out.  Frequently I click on web pages and getting long pauses and No internet connection being reported back.  Click the link another couple of times and it eventually works.

I want my Super Hub 1 back!!!!!

You can get your own wireless gear use the super hub in modem mode and it be a lot better.

The new super hub might not like your NIC in your PC even if its 1Gb and a recent PC.

Then again you say it works fine in modem mode...could be then the super hub ports have different firmware code handling for the ports in modem mode to router mode when really they should be the same.

Re: Lag Spikes after new 200Mbps Upgrade

Hi monkey1246,

Welcome to the community Smiley Happy I'm sorry to hear that you're suffering lag and slow speeds since the upgrade and switch to the Super Hub 2.  I've tested the hub and network and everything is currently reporting back as good, although there do seem to have been a couple of T3 timeouts on the hub over the past few days.

So we can get a better grasp of the problems you're suffering, could you set up a Broadband Quality Monitor please?  Just leave it run over 24 hours and that'll produce a graph displaying any packet loss as well as maximum and average latency, this will help us to see what's happening with the connection when problems occur.  Just post back when you have 24+ hours on that graph and include a link or screenshot of the graph and we'll be able to look into the problems further.
