Re: Hub 3 / Compal CH7465-LG (TG2492LG) & CGNV4 Latency Cause

Thanks Mud but I was referring to wifi channels, not bonded up and down channels. I may have misunderstood the OP's original comment and he meant the cable channels rather than wifi broadcast channels.

Having some really odd and predictable looking increase in response times:

Jesus, that looks awful. Mine isn't even 5% of that. Why is my latency so much better than other? I have the spikes and they seem to measure up to around 60ms and are spaced out.

How long before we can expect this Intel fix? Hopefully quickly as it's not Virgin fixing it.

Would this effect pings to the modem too (local traffic)?

I've been wondering why my pings with a PCI-E AC68 went from <1ms on my old Superhub 2, to anywhere from 3ms to 73ms over the local network. Even in ridiculous scenarios where I place the SH3 next to my computer, it won't go below 2ms. I get that it's wireless, but even in my old house where I'd have to go through two walls I've never had a situation like this. I've also noticed spikes in games and rubber-banding. My understanding of the first post and contents of this thread is that it would effect everything to do with any incoming/outgoing packets. Which would also explain the insane input lag I get when trying to use Steam in-home streaming.

Yes, it will affect local traffic as well. I noticed that one day when I was running ping tests and ended up running an internal ping test. The internal latency was a surprise at first but it does make sense due to the packet processing that appears to be placed on hold while some higher priority task runs.

absolutely yes! I've seen the latency spike lag issue even on a direct gigabit Ethernet link between my PC and the router.

Not sure this has been posted. But here goes.

Red (VM SH2 AC Beta tester)
Running on 200Mb VM service with SH2 AC in Modem Mode, with a ASUS RT-N66U router. With this setup I get Fantastic WIRED and WIRELESS Signals in my home. I dont work for VM. But I work in IT, and I know my tech.
My advice is at your own risk.

Has anyone successfully had their bill reduced due to this issue? If so, what did you say, who did you speak to etc?

Re: Hub 3 / Compal CH7465-LG (TG2492LG) & CGNV4 Latency Cause

I have by 50% according to support, so will verify this come next billing cycle. I noted the issue, but they didn't know about it and instead said they had engineers working on the speed issues and upgrading equipment in this area code (to do with over utilisation by all accounts during peak hours). So I won't see the latency issue fixed from that of course, and as such, am expecting a 50% reduction every month until it is fully fixed with whatever firmware is out for it.

My graph today, looks nothing like anyone else's. how come mine is so much better? My Hub is only a week old. Possible improvements in manufacturing maybe? Doubt it mind. With some of the graphs of on here, I would be pulling my hair out if I still had any. My Broadband Ping - Hub 3.0
