If I return the SH2 to service can I keep the SH3 for Wi-Fi only while my PS4 connects to SH2 wired??

No

I was about to go to infinity to improve my Wi-Fi performance and ping but Virgin called up today to offer me a good deal on V200 Gamer to stay and some Wi-Fi extenders to improve the Wi-Fi.....should I stay?

If you are happy with the quality of service and ping your VM connection gives you stay, but if you play any kind of online gaming check out my broadband quality monitors below.

Now can we please stay on this threads topic Smiley Tongue

Hi

Without reading the back the last 50+ pages, is this latency issue still not fixed?

I want to change our package at some point which will mean getting the HUB3 but want to be sure this latency issue is fixed.

Thank's

Its not fixed no.

With regards to my complaint just received a call back from the complaints department (African accent) and have been told I can't have a hub 2AC as they don't stock it and don't have any, at all, in the UK and why would I want one, its old technology.  I wouldn't go back to an old iPhone if I have a newer version is what I was also told.

Re: Hub 3 / Compal CH7465-LG (TG2492LG) and CGNV4 Latency Cause

Its correct that they dont officially stock 2AC's, they are not even made anymore, however they do have returns and retentions. There is only a finite number of these avialable and I have no idea how many.

The fact that the customer service advisor said why would you want a 2AC shows they are either a complete and total idiots (given the press about this, not to mention the 184 page thread on the subject, as well as others) or they are complete liars, denying that this is an issue. Either way its a damning indictment of Virgin Media and their handling of this issue.

The only way you are going to get a 2AC (if still available) is to keep phoning in. I know its soul destroying going through the automated garbage then speaking to someone who reads of a script but keep pushing the customer complaints and ask to speak to a broadband specialist. After about 7 or 8 weeks of ringing nearly every night I eventually had a returned call who acknowledged this was an issue "for some customers" and who actually sent me a 2AC.

It is an appalling situation for so many people, made worse by Virgin ignoring it, or at least pretending it does not exisit. Not one of the Virgin team who supports these forums will acknowledge this issue. If you start a new thread, they will either tell you eveything looks OK or they have raised a ticket for SNR or such like, knowing full well you have a flaky Hub3.

I know this isnt a Virgin issue per se, its a worldwide issue relating to the Puma 6 chipset and I'm sure they want a fix as much as we do. However quietly ignoring the issue and hoping we will simply go away or not complain is not great for customer relations and merely portrays Virgin as heartless money grabbers. I have no doubt there will be some legal minefield which is keeping them quiet but that doesn't help those in the current mire.

Good luck

lol. Just ask them to get you a broadband specialist. He will call you and sort it out.
I am getting my call tomorrow. I already have 2AC at home.

They would have more stock if they didn't tell upgrading customers to recycle/keep there old SH2s when upgrading as they did with me. Thankful now though if I do stay with them that I still have it. I'll run some tests thanks.

IT'S NOT FIXABLE. This has been going on for 2 years without a fix. The silence from Virgin and others tells volumes.

I've given up on a firmware update and you should also. It's a fantasy.

Obviously just not going to happen.

You either wait for the HUB 4 and hope they don't make the same mistake again or change to a new provider.....if you are lucky enough to have a choice. By that I mean Openreach or whomever does fast fibre in your area. I don't have a choice yet.

I'm happyish with the 300 Gamer but dream of what that could be like if it wasn't for the cursed HUB 3 problem.

Re: Hub 3 / Compal CH7465-LG (TG2492LG) and CGNV4 Latency Cause

Hi

I've managed to keep my SHv2 for the past 2 contract cycles from the 120Mb - 150Mb - 200Mb speeds upgrades

of course again, they insist on sending me a SHv3 , claiming its "required" to get the 300Mb level I've upgraded to

I said I didnt want or need the v3 obviously, but I was willing to have a look to see if it was fixed by now, horrified to see that it still hasn't been!

My question is, does the old SHv2 work with the 300Mb speed level ?

thanks

Re: Hub 3 / Compal CH7465-LG (TG2492LG) and CGNV4 Latency Cause

This is an interesting read if anyone interested... https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2017/10/cablelabs-finish-spec-symmetric-10gbps-docsis-3-1-cabl... under "n the meantime the wait for Virgin Media to start customer trials of ordinary DOCSIS 3.1 continues. A big chunk of the operator’s network is technically prepared for it and the first viable router kit is now in the market (e.g. ARRIS’s TG3442 cable router – a possible SuperHub / Hub 4.0 contender), although so far they’ve been reluctant to confirm any solid plans."
