Hub 3.0 router problem?

Hi, can someone help please? I have a problem logging in to Elder Scrolls Online. I keep getting "An error has occurred. Please wait a few minutes and try again". I did a power cycle on the router at the suggestion of the gaming company's support team and that solved the issue for a couple of days. However the problem is back now. I've checked the router status and the network log has various errors in it. I have posted them below (I've removed the IP address). I already have an engineer visit booked to upgrade me to VIVID 200 Gamer on March 8th. Should I be asking for a new hub or a fix? I'd be grateful for some advice as this is driving me mad!

Re: Hub 3.0 router problem?

The hub 3 has a known issue with the intel puma 6 chipset, it's not offloading some tasks to hardware like it should be and there is a periodic high priority task that runs that kills performance.... they are working on fix, but until the fix arrives in the form of updated firmware the hub 3 is garbage for gaming... it's actually a good bit of kit so I'm looking forward to the fix, but in the meantime if you still have a superhub 2ac you would be better off calling the fault line and getting them to reactivate it, and it works fine with vivid gaming....

Re: Hub 3.0 router problem?

Hi barkingmad, now that you have found your way into the router status screens can you also post your Upstream and Downstream data so that we can see if there's an issue there.

Re: Hub 3.0 router problem?

No obvious problem revealed there.  Power levels both Up and Down are perfect and the Signal to Noise ratio is fine too.

Re: Hub 3.0 router problem?

Thanks for your response Dave.

Does anyone have any idea why it would be blocking this particular game and no others? It's only just started happening. I would be grateful if anyone can give me an insight into this before I phone Virgin.

Re: Hub 3.0 router problem?

Hi barkingmad,

Thanks for posting back on the community.

I'm sorry to read you are having issues with playing Elder Scrolls Online.

I've taken a look at your connection, the line and hub have come back as fine.

Can you answer a few questions for me please to have a better understanding of this issue?

Is the game on PS4, Xbox or PC? Is the device connected through wireless or wired?

When you notice the disconnection, does the internet actually stop working at the same time?

Hope to hear from you soon

Sam

Re: Hub 3.0 router problem?

Hi Sam and thanks for responding to my post and checking my line and hub. I'm playing Elder Scrolls on PC and through a wired connection (powerlines). The internet still works fine when I'm having a problem with ESO. I should say at this point that I have managed to connect successfully to Elder Scrolls about four or fives times without having to power cycle the hub. I suspect it may have been an issue with Elder Scrolls servers rather than an ISP issue as players on their forums have been reporting logging in issues across all platforms after a recent patch. So fingers crossed, all is well at the moment. We've signed up for VIVID 200 Gamer so we are looking forward to getting that in March.

Re: Hub 3.0 router problem?

Morning barkingmad,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I'm glad there has been an improvement whilst playing Elder Scrolls Online, that's great. Fingers crossed it stays like this.

Monitor the connection and if you do notice this happen again, try and post some trace routes if possible for us to check over.

Won't be long before the VIVID 200 Gamer is installed for you Smiley Happy

Regards

Sam
