This problem was very annoying before but now it's gotten to the point where I can't even fix it on my own or do anything about it. It's been going on for months, I would throughout the week randomly get ping spike between 300 - 400 ping dependent on how the modem would feel on a certain day but usually it could get fixed with a simple reset of the connection.
However lately it has gotten so bad that I am regularly having to deal with ping counts of 500 - 700 and I'm not even exaggerating in the slightest. I've done all the usual things to try and fix it so the only thing I can do now is try contacting you. Sometimes depending on how bad it is doing a simple reset of the modem doesn't do a single thing.
Okay, I did some testing by playing Battlefield 4 for awhile, my connection performed as expected and I eventually got kicked off the server for high ping ( as if that wasn't enough of a giveaway that I'm having problems, even the ping limits detect these spikes )
As you should be able to see on the chart now, I seem to be getting those red streaks occasionally that indicate packet loss, thanks for pointing me towards BQM actually, it's really helpful. What's interesting is I actually experienced a timeout on the browsing itself just now, normally the spikes are so small that they don't do much to internet browsing, it still drastically affects my gaming experience though.
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear you're getting ping spikes. I've just checked your connection and can see that both your up and downstream power levels are out of spec and will need a technician to adjust.
I've just sent you a private message to arrange the best time for this. To view your messages just click the envelope at the top of the page.
Since you were nice enough to send a Technician over I gave you guys the benefit of the doubt and let him do his thing, the power levels were definitely changed and I can now see that they're at the levels they should be and I thought that before 4:00pm it was all fixed.
However, this happened at a specific time, around 5:00pm onwards the ping spikes were back and just as bad as before, I am reading ping spikes of 100 and up often reaching 300 - 500 ping. You guys cannot blame this on third party servers as it is happening everywhere, while browsing has improved it feels like I'm back to square one in terms of my latency issues.
What is going on? It must be a network issue because the technician has just been today and there are no faults on my end, please look into this because if there are so many other users posting these problems recently there must be something going on which is undeniable.
I have provided screenshot evidence, the diagnostics software you rely on is not picking this up, either that, or I can only assume you are deliberately ignoring it.
