EA Server Lag Issue

Hi Guys,

I've been directed here by EA who have advised me that the traceroute to their server is riddled with errors. I've been having issues whilst playing FIFA 17 online. The game is very sluggish and slow to respond on an almost permanent basis when playing online, but not usually jittery or 'conventionally' laggy (i.e freezing, speeding up, glitching etc etc).

Here is the traceroute:

Can anybody help?

For the record, I'm using a wired connection to an Xbox One. The XB1 is in the DMZ. SH3 is in Modem mode and I'm using an Asus N66U router. I've tried all of EA's troubleshooting steps with no improvement.

Thanks.

Re: EA Server Lag Issue

Also, I am on the 100mb Big Bang package. The speed drops dramatically to anywhere between 0-20mbps in the evenings (which I'm going to create and different thread about) but this issue is around the clock. Looking forward to your responses.

Thanks

Re: EA Server Lag Issue

I have also had these problems since about Friday, after some "network maintenance" on the 22nd. Ping and packet loss are so high as to make using the Internet, much less playing games, impossible.

Re: EA Server Lag Issue

Attn Heather_J The problems don't go away if no Mod looks / reports whats happening.

IMO two things that are causing this, the VM SH (I mean all of them) are no good for gaming in Router mode, and the second is the provider that does your routeing is second rate. Please improve Gaming Routing.

My advice is at your own risk.

Re: EA Server Lag Issue

Hi Heather_J,

As RedGooner said, of course I am still having issues as you are the first staff member to reply to me (over a week later, a week!). How could the issue be resolved if nobody has dealt with my post? I gave you all the info that I have and which I thought was relevant. I even posted the traceroute for you to look at but you didn't comment on it, in fact it looks like you spent a grand total of about 10 seconds your time on me.

I was advised by EA that the traceroute showed a lot of problems but I have no IT background and wouldn't know either way, so I'm relying on you to tell me if it does or doesn't and if it does, what can you do about it? I hope you can come back to me (in another week or so, no rush...) with something tangible.

Re: EA Server Lag Issue

Hello Heather_J,

Are you there? I am still waiting for a meaningful response from you.

Given the ongoing problems I'm having with speed in the evenings and the complete lack of any customer service on this site I am considering switching providers. I could waste my time calling your guys in India who will stall and try to frustrate me into submission by asking me to turn my router on and off a thousand times and having me take time off work for pointless engineer visits (if they show up, that is) but I've been through all that before with Virgin when I lived with my parents and I just don't have the patience for it. My whole Virgin experience has been a disappointing one, they even had the cheek to raise prices less than 3 months after I signed an 18 month contract. If anybody from Virgin is reading this, your company has let me down in a big way. I pay my money to you in good faith and you take the mick out of me in return with speeds around 3% of what I pay for every night of the damn week. I imagine it would take far, far less than 2 or 3 weeks to get in touch with me if I didn't pay my bill, right?

Does anybody have any advice with regard to leaving your Virgin contract early? Any info much appreciated.

Re: EA Server Lag Issue

Just saw the tumbleweed go by. Or is that the new name for a mod these days.
