Download speed drops too often, Wifi disconnects regularly

I've been a costumer for a long time now, like 3 years or so, and only lately my virgin media experience has been ridiculously unacceptable. I use and have been using Wifi connection ever since I joined, but lately the network keeps dropping like 4 times a day on every device I have for like 2 minutes, only to come back on like nothing happened. This is bound to happen every single night at about 22:30 for some reason, but it happens during the day too at random times.

Not only that, i cannot play online games all day - the issue isn't the ping or packet loss because they both stay the same and I don't get any, respectively. I don't know what it is, but whenever I run a speed test, the download speed keeps spiking down to zero and coming back up, although it does not happen with upload speed, or like I said ping.

Here you can see clearly what I'm talking about. The download speed is inconsistent, upload speed stays at what it is supposed to be at as well as ping. Not to mention the download speed being lower than it should be most of the time, but i will let that slide.

This has been like that for like 3 weeks now, all day, every day.

Does this happen on wifi only, or also via a Cable connection.

Re: Download speed drops too often, Wifi disconnects regularly

Hi Watashay,

Thanks for posting and a warm welcome to the community.

Sorry to read that you are having issues with your wireless network.

I've managed to locate your account, the line and hub have come back as fine.

As you are connected via wireless this could be due to interference. Have you tried to change the wireless channel to see if that helps?

Have you tried through a wired connection see if you get the same issue?

Let us know how you get on
Sam

Re: Download speed drops too often, Wifi disconnects regularly

I have tried switching the channel, rebooting, full-resetting the router but nothing works.
Although I have not tried wired connection. Still does not make sense, since I have been on wi-fi for like over 3 years without a problem like this.

Thanks.
