Destiny connection problems Xbox one

Hello,

I keep getting kicked from the destiny servers roughly every 10 minutes resulting In me having to login again. I am connected wirelessly with other devices connected on the same network. I have put the Xbox in the DMZ but still I have connection issues. All other games work fine online.

What's strange is that I set up a guest network that only my Xbox is connected to and instead of being kicked from the sever, I am being kicked from the game world e.g. Moon, having to pick my destination again.

An engineer has recently come and changed the box, for a separate issue, so I presume the SH is fine.

Any help on this matter will be gratlely appreciated.

Regards.

Hi Muezzin12,

Welcome to the community Smiley Happy

I'm sorry to hear you're losing connection to the Destiny servers so frequently, that sounds quite frustrating, let me see what I can do to help.

I've tested your hub, everything does indeed look good on that front.  Everything is also looking good on the network segment, there is no indication of anything causing dropouts.  I'm sure the answer is no, but do any other devices drop connection when you're kicked from the game server?  I just want to check this isn't related to a more general connection problem.

The first thing I'd try is a wired connection, get your Xbox hooked up to the hub via ethernet and see if the drops continue.  Can you let me know how you get on with that?

Kev

Re: Destiny connection problems Xbox one

Hello,

I narrowed it down to the 5ghz signal being the culprit as its flawless on the 2.4ghz connection. I tested the SH in modem mode connected to an ASUS N66U and the 5ghz on that works perfect aswell.

I find it odd the 5ghz is not stable on the SH as it is on the ASUS. Is there any specific settings I should use on the SH for the 5ghz to not drop its connection without reducing the speed? I would rather just use tone router then two.

Regards.

Re: Destiny connection problems Xbox one

What setting is your router seton for the 5ghz?

if it isn't try putting it on "auto performance".

Wifi dropouts on the xbox one is a known issue on the preview program forums, following up on that the next update is due sometime in feb 2016, I cant tell you what will be fixed though Smiley Happy.
