Ive been having problems with my wireless all day. Ive finally got it working through an ethernet cable but i need my wireless to do its jop and actually work without the cables. Ive had the wireless about a month and wrote into here 3 times with similar problems!!
Anyone know why i cant connect to my network without my ethernet cable?? I have a netgear router if thats any help. When i try to connect through the wireless manager it just keeps saying that it cant connect to my router and check that the power and internet lights are on, if they are move your computer nearer to the wireless router. Ive been right in front of it and it still keeps giving me the same message!
I come across this when I installed my router. Try changing the wireless channel for the router as it may be conflicting with someone else in your area. You will need to connect via ethernet to set this up.
Also consider where you are placing your router in the house for potential blocked or interfered signals.
Hi, just a thought but have you got any security set up on the router? Like WPA or MAC address filtering etc?
Does your pc 'see' the wireless before you try to connect - if it does and it won't connect it sounds like there could be a security setting, mind you, I've had a similar problem myself and had accidentally flicked the wireless switch off on the front of the laptop - took me 5 minutes to work out what was wrong!
I work for VM but my views are my own and don't necessarily represent those of the company... etc.
