I barely download anything on Usenet these days but I'm getting utterly fed up that on the odd occasion when I do try and download anything I'm getting ridiculous speeds like that.
I could almost understand the throttling argument if I'd downloaded a load of stuff already. I could even understand it if throttling meant I got cut to 50% of my connection speed. But to cut my speed by roughly 80% regardless, just seems utterly absurd.
I have just checked your connection and network segment. Everything appears to be OK at present and there do not appear to have been any network problems recently. Speedtests should always be run from a single, ethernet connected PC, with no devices connected wirelessly (modem mode). Concurrently downloading multiple large files from multiple servers and adding the throughput will usually give a more accurate indication of actual download speeds than speed testing sites, here's how to do that.
We have seen Kaspersky and Avast! interfering with speeds so, if you are using either, please disable it when speed testing. Please also check that the power supply is 12Vac, 1.5A. A CAT 6 ethernet cable is also recommended.
