Uninstall Norton and Install Virgin Media Security

I need to uninstall Norton secruity and install Virgin Media security. I've never done this before and so I'm worried about when Norton has been uninstalled my computer won't be protected until  the Virgin Media is fully installed. How is the computer protected until the new security is set up? I will really appreciate any help with this question.

Thanks

Hi

You cannot simply uninstall Norton you need to use their removal tools here

https://www-secure.symantec.com/norton-support/jsp/help-solutions.jsp?lg=english&ct=united+states&do...

Sorry if you are aware of that part of the process.

Anyway i cannot recommend the virgin media security after reading these forums it is just problem after problem. Remember virgin are a media / communications company and not at all a internet security company.

My honest suggestion and experience would tell you to look at AVG free or even Microsoft Security Essentials. These are fantastic security suites and of course completely free.

AVG http://www.filehippo.com/download_avg_antivirus/

Or

MSE http://www.filehippo.com/download_security_essentials_xp/

Please note only install one. If you install more than one they can conflict and cause more issues that you do not want.

Re: Uninstall Norton and Install Virgin Media Security

Why do you want to uninstall Norton Internet Security for Virgin Media's I.S.?

Personally, I woud stick with Norton, since I use Norton and wouldn't even think about trying Virgin's IS.
