Our phone started crackling about a month ago. This week it became so bad that it' very difficult to hear callers and they are also being cut off after one minute or so and if they call after they got cut off they get a busy line.
We have changed the phone and plug in straight to the box ( no extensions ) and the cracking noise is still there so it cant be a faulty phone.
On your tests sometimes when we plug in the phone to the box we would have no dial tone and if i called from my mobile the line would be busy.
If we could have an engineer to have a look it would be great.
PS. you may be thinking, why i dint report this sooner if i am having issues for one month now, but the fact is and you can check your records ( VirginMedia ), evertime i have an issue with my phone a few days later i get assign a different home number or i get cross lines ( happens 2x now ) and have to get another engineer to come and fix it, so i was living in hope the issue would go away.

main phone is cordless the test handset is corded
either i am very blind or there is no way for me to see my PM anywhere

There should be a little envelope icon to click on top right corner under "Forum Help" near your user settings and sign out button.
But that said it had a problem last week where it started to randomly disappear for people, if yours is still missing try posting in the What's happened to the PM function topic posts.

There is a post in there I just noticed about checking PMs are turned on in settings, this link if I do it correctly.

what i see on mine, there is nothing about Private messenger options, like the one on that post
