Does anyone know if Virgin Media would upgrade me from M TV package to M+ TV package for FREE?
I have done a bundle on the website as a new customer to match my current package (XL Broadband, M TV and M Telephone) but there was no M TV package option so I went with M+ and it worked out the same sort of cost (I think it was £5 cheaper).
Would be great to hear if anyone else has managed to get the upgrade for no extra monthly charge.
You just need to check the small print as if you upgrade from M to M+ the discount will only be half the price.
Half price upgrade: offer ends 31 March 2011. Available to existing TV M customers upgrading to TV M+ , TV M+ customers upgrading to TV L, and TV L customers upgrading to TV XL (subject to status and credit checks). You will receive a discount via a credit applied to your bill equivalent to half the difference in price between your current TV package and your new upgraded TV package for the first 6 months. Standard TV prices apply thereafter. Customers on non-standard pricing will need to move to standard pricing to receive this offer.
By the way Customer Services wont be able to do a thing.
You want a deal? You have to phone retentions (150> Option 2> Option 2> Option 2) and tell them you are thinking of leaving unless you get some sort of deal- tell them what package you want and tell them to give you the best price the company will allow.
They will first give you a rubbish deal, so just keep phoning untill you get the price and package you really want.
It took me 4 calls to get the package I wanted, I was told 4 different prices each time first one was over £60, second one was £56, third one was about the same and the last call I was offered the package I wanted for only £44.24!

I was in a contract with my existing services and still managed to get a brilliant deal!! Give it a go and post back with the results.
