Spoke to retention department yesterday they confirmed virgin were in talks with Netflix and Lovefilm.. It all depends on what financial arrangement virgin can get from the two companies. Had Lovefilm great content but picture quality is unbelievably bad cancelled my months free trial after 5 Days. NetFlix however do have lot less content, but stream alot of films and TV in HD 5.1 surround sound works great on my XBOX. Just a tip you can access Netflix USA which has an unbelievable amount of films by just manually changing your DNS settings on any platform to PRIMARY DNS.....18.104.22.168 SECONDARY DNS..22.214.171.124 put the above in and hey presto you can log in with your UK Netflix account and watch the US sites films. to go back to the UK version you have to set your DNS back to AUTO.
TICK MY KUDOS IF I HAVE BEEN OF HELP. THANK YOU VERY MUCH
You know, as much as I dislike a lot of what Apple do (especially marketing their products as "lifestyle accessories" which makes me sick and angry) I think the Mac Mini makes an excellent STB. A proper operating system which runs well, quiet and efficient in operation, fully featured internet app/browsing facilities, no waiting for features that should already be there etc...
With Netflix on TiVo, let's face it, it'll take VM years to paint the US app red.
Do you have to have a US Netflix account? Is it just a case of changing the dns in the network config. I have an Apple TV 2 and was thrilled that Netflx came over her but disappointed with the content.
