I can receive emails fine, but can not send them no matter how I configure the SMTP stuff
Please advise ... my email supplier says this is a virgin problem not theirs
"As you are using your broadband providers SMTP service there is nothing we could affect on to prevent it working.
I cannot see logs nor settings for this, if you cannot send emails please contact your broadband provider."
Any advice on the settings
If I completely take off the password settings it sends but that takes the receiving email offline
V frustrating and was fine for a year and half and now I can't do anything but use web mail
Any advice welcomed
This message is to Virgin Media as they do not accept emails in response to theirs!
Thank you for your response earlier today, but unforutantely I am still having problems!!!!
I have followed your guideline in your email and still no joy!
I cannot understand why I am still having problems.
I have previously sent emails from my IPhone 4 on the following previous dates:
28/10/2011 x 4
12/11/2011 x 2
27/03/2012 x 1
07/04/2012 x 2
This is my Set up On my IPHONE4

User Name: firstname.lastname@example.org
Use SSL: ON
Authentication: Password Yes (tick)
Server Port: 993
Details on Outgoing Mail Server
Host Name: smtp.ntlworld.com
User Name: email@example.com
Server Port: 465
Cannot Send Mail Message: The connection to the outgoing server "smtp.ntlworld.com" failed. Additional Outgoing mail servers can be configured in Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
I would be most grateful if you could respond and hopefully resolve.!
Please use the settings below to configure the email client.
Use the smtp.virginmedia.com and pop3.virginmedia.com server settings instead of the .ntlworld.com settings.
These servers are far more reliable.
The email address needs to remain unchanged.
