I am going to shed some light on this situation.
To those reading this, and who know exactly what I'm talking about, I know that you are on Virgin or Virginmedia internet.
There is absolutely nothing you or riot can do to stop this lag. It is a complete fault of Virgin. To put it simply, they are scumbags.
The massive spurt of gaming that LoL has created has put too much strain on Virgin for them to handle, so they purposely throttle the connection to the Riot servers, because and I quote on a managers words "We can't handle it". When; in fact, they are actually trying to get money from Riot to stop the throttling because "they'd use the money for new equipment" (another bull****e quote from a manager).
It is probably the most bull****e excuse I have ever heard in my life, I personally do work at minor network managing, what Virgin are doing is trying to make a buck out of something they should have no control over, because LoL is a free game and they don't have to pay any major network licensing (mainly the fact they have their own private network as well)
I gradually went further up the line to a networking manager, and he said "If you wish, for an extra £10 a month I can release the throttle". I don't think I have ever been so disgusted in my life.
Well i also rang virgin up and spoke to someone , they said , "League of legends is a high bandwith game and theres nothing virgin media can do to fix it" I was so angry at this and just said bye and put the phone down , i am just looking for a honest answer to the problem

I want my Virgin media fixing now or there will be some serious problems, this is simply unaccptable im a LoL streamer and this is ruining my stream. Something ive worked very hard for. Granted its one game out of the many i own but it is the whole reason i bought 60MB broadband, VM Fix this or im pulling my money out simple as, BT looks pretty good right now.
There is NOTHING virgin media can do as the problem is OUTSIDE of the virgin media network.
The company you need to target is Cogent Commuincations. It's on there network where the problem is. Not the Virgin Media network.
Oh and Cogent do not give two hoots about the problem.
And this is exactly why we tell Virgin because they pay Cogent to keep the network running properly and they don't care about our complaints but they will if Virgin asks them to sort it out.[MOD EDIT: Inappropriate language removed, please review the Forum Guidelines]
