Superhub, 50mb broadband, and at some point it looks like we got the R26 firmware.
We've got an engineer coming out on Monday but in the meantime I thought I'd share to see if anyone else had a similar problem - we've been keeping a log of when the Superhub needs a reset and have noticed that it seems to be more less every hour and a half. I woke up to find it was down this morning so I'm expecting to lose it again around midday....
Sometimes I wake up to find top light flashing, bottom light on. Sometimes I just lose my DHCP lease, all the lights are green, but I've got nothing - maybe I catch it BEFORE it resets but either way pulling the plug "solves" the problem, at least for an hour and a bit.
Rang VM "support" who first advised me to untick the Firewall and IP Flood boxes (which I'd already done WEEKS ago trying to make 50mb go at 50mb) and then tweak a load of WIRELESS settings. Our devices are WIRED. It doesn't matter how they're connected when the so-called "Super"hub falls over with such regularity, does it?!
Anyway, anyone ever have such regularly timed problems? How did you fix them - if it didn't require an engineer visit?
It's similar to problems we had when 50mb first launched in Darlington and we were on the VMNG300 - it would drop out once or twice a day, daily. Two engineer visits and them suggesting there was a problem at the "head end" (the what?) never fixed it. Ended up going back to 20mb.
It was alright for a couple of weeks until recently - then this firmware update came out and now it's useless. Could be coincidence, could be a problem. Can't tell. I even found another forum thread on here suggesting his connection had been knocked off because he'd ordered TiVO and it had put his bill over the credit limit and THAT'S why he couldn't connect! Well guess what I finalised an install date for earlier in the week..... VM "support" tell me my account is fine though.
Just wanted to pop in and express my delight that my connection has been stable for over a day now! Still going to have the engineer out to see if he can check everything over and check our downtimes against any other known problems.
Can you advise how your connection has been since the engineer came out?
