I have checked the line from here and it is showing up ok.
It could still be a physical fault with the line so what I would suggest is test your handset in a line you know is working (friend or family members) if you can. If the phone does not work then it will be the phone that is at fault.
If the phone works in the other line then we know it is the line at fault and we can arrange for an engineer to come out.

Bought a new phone and the line still doesn't work. The phone tells me to check phoneline. Does the phoneline break down when the handset falls off the phone (as it did) and is not reconnected within a certain time? The new phone is a DECT type with two wireless extensions. It is a KX-TG6413E
