Can't access router setup page

I've been trying for a while now here and there for several days to access my router setup page via the address bar + IP (192.168.0.1) also tried other ones that's worked in the past with other routers (192.168.100.1, 192.168.1.1, 192.168.2.1) and nothing works, I get the "page taking too long to load, check internet connection" etc... message in firefox, no luck in google crome or IE either.

I had to access it when first getting the router which was only about a month ago so I don't know what's happened since then.

My router is the new VMDG280 one and not supported by netgear as it's supplied by Virgin, before I finally resort to ringing them up I thought I'd try and find help here first.

Thanks

Re: Can't access router setup page

Hi, open up a command shell

>> Start Menu >>All Programs >> Accessories >> Command Prompt

you should get  a back screen appear, type ipconfig and press enter

take a note of the default gateway and let us know this address

Re: Can't access router setup page

Just to clarify things- the router works but you timeout when using 192.168.0.1? Or the router doesn't work yet? If the latter use ipconfig/renew , followed by ipconfig/all to see if you still have the same gateway address.

Are you connecting via ethernet or wifi- try the former first.

Re: Can't access router setup page

odd???

I guess a reset might help. Or a different browser without pop up blockers. That said, I have never seen a router use a pop up for the login.

Re: Can't access router setup page

I've tried all the browsers I have, chrome, IE, firefox and even my old AOL browser.

I'll give a router restart a try.
