've done everything to try and change wan ip address but my virgin superhub just doesn't allow me. I'm doing this as I keep getting DDoS. Can virgin media change my Ip address or do I have to buy a 3rd party router. It's kind of ridiculous as virgin media should allow you to change your IP by resetting your router.

Virgin cannot change the wan ip and you also cannot change it without a 3rd party router.
the ip is linked to the MAC address of the connected device to the modem.
for the Superhub in router mode you cannot change it so cannot get a new ip.
3rd party routers have a clone mac function that will allow you to change its wan slide mac and thus the mac reported to the CMTS by the modem will be that of the 3rd party router when running the Superhub in modem mode.
its the way DOCSIS cable networks work.

Does not matter what router you have traffic management will be the same.
also it's not virgins fault that your getting DDoSed and will happen again even if you change your ip and keep doing the same things on your connection To expose your ip. No matter what provider you have.

The world doesnt have unlimited IPv4 addys to give out..
Perhaps you should explore the problem instead of looking for a way around it. Why are you getting hit by DDoS and what can you do to stop (or perhaps, not cause) it.

I change my IP the user can't DDos me anymore. He's DDoSing me becuase I beat him in an online video game. If I do change my IP he won't find out my new one and thus can't DDoS me.
