hi, I have received +500 spam emails since Tuesday evening. I never have these before. I haven't been reading them but putting them into spam, How do I stop this happening and how did it happen? Virginmedia on twitter suggested I post to this forum for help.

IMHO, Virgin Media should first look at why their (incoming) spam filters are not triggered by these emails. Can you try forwarding some of these spam emails to yourself to see if they trigger the (outgoing) spam filter from webmail; you will see a message similar to the following if triggered:
2018-02-10-01.jpeg

Though unlikely can you confirm Spam Settings option Turn off all SPAM filtering is not selected? To do this:

  • in webmail select and then Settings
  • select SPAM Settings
FYI, default setting is Move message to Spam folder

Do these spam email have a common attribute like sender, to, subject, …?
