setting up email on Samsung tab 3

I'm trying to set up email on my wife's samsung tab 3 and keep getting a message "incorrect username or password".

I have email set up on my own samsung note and it works perfectly well. I've used the same settings on the tab to no avail and I've followed the instructions on a previous link on the forum again with no success. This is an old ntlworld.com address.

I know the username and password I'm using are correct.

Anything else I can try?

Re: setting up email on Samsung tab 3

Hi scotman,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with setting your emails up on the Samsung device.

In order to determine where or what the fault may be can you please post what settings you are using. Any personal information such as password leave out and the beginning of the username please use *****

Thanks,

Kath

Re: setting up email on Samsung tab 3

When I try to set up I get a message which says setup could not complete

incorrect user name or password.

I then go into manual set up and use IMAP

username@ntlworld.com

password

imap.virginmedia.com

SSL

993

optional

press next -  incorrect name or password. I go back to manual setup

Using Pop 3

username@ntlworld.com

password

pop3.virginmedia.com

SSL

995

Again I get the message incorrect user name or password

I have also used imap.ntlworld.com and pop3.ntlworld.com with the port numbers above.

Hope that helps

Thanks

Re: setting up email on Samsung tab 3

Hi scotman,

Well the settings are definatley correct.

What I would suggest doing is a reset on the password. Sign in to Virgin Media and change the password.

Maybe a reset is all it needs. If for any reason it won't allow you to do so then just give the Faults team a call and they can then reset it for you. You can reach them on 150 (free) from a Virgin Media land line or alternatively 0845 454 1111 (chargeable) from any other line.

Thanks,
