Have you tried a manual set up using the settings from here ?

Re: setting up Windows7 Live Mail (ntlworld)

Thanks for the reply :smileyhappy:

All my settings are as described in the linked document.

I am concerned about losing all my e-mails should I remove the ntlworld account from Windows Live Mail.  All my messages have disappeared from Webmail despite me specifying in WLM settings to leave a copy of messages on the server and only to remove when deleted from deleted items.

I have also had the problem of messages older than 3 months old being deleted from Webmail hence trying to use WLM.

Re: setting up Windows7 Live Mail (ntlworld)

Have lost all created folders & e-mails saved within that were downloaded to Windows Live Mail.  No changes to settings have been made since initial set-up.  All e-mails have been deleted from Webmail account despite settings stating not to delete anything outside Deleted Items folder - really miffed!!

Re: setting up Windows7 Live Mail (ntlworld)

Franky, It has been over a year since you posted your question about using Windows Live Mail as the client for ntlworld.com emails.

Unfortunately, I am now experienceing the same problem as you were before. Have you solved this problem? If yes, will you be willing to share your solution with me?

Many thanks in advance.

George

Note that in the first post the OP shows that he is using the wrong settings, and when BenMcr has then linked to the correct settings the OP says that those same are indeed what he is using, contrary to what he just said before. So it is a little confusing to know what is actually going on.

I would therefore suggest you start you own post afresh, and show what settings you are using, with what result.

Avoid using the Outlook 'automatic' setup. Tick the box to set up manually, then use the settings as advised by BenMcr, or use the virginmedia.com settings here . They will work for @ntlworld.com addresses as well.

Ensure your password complies with the spec here

Be aware that if you changed your My VM password for the account, this is the same password used for the email also, so it will also have been changed.
