Re: Windows live mail problem

You could try the virgin media.com servers.

pop3.virginmedia.com Port 995 SSL on
smtp.virginmedia.com Port 465 SSL on

Re: Windows live mail problem

Have already tried this. Makes absolutely no difference. I have even set up a virginmedia address with exactly the same results.

Re: Windows live mail problem

Another possibility is your anti virus software especially if it has email scanner facility, you could try temporarily disabling it/the email scanner & try again.

Re: Windows live mail problem

Do you have a lot (100s) of emails in your inbox?
Have you changed the mail sending format settings from HTML email to plain text? There might be an email stuck on the server trying to be sent.
Can you try a different email client (Windows inbuilt mail, thunderbird) to see if there's a problem with WLMail?
Have you tried setting up the account using imap rather than pop?

If these don't answer your question then I'm out of suggestions.

Re: Windows live mail problem

What hasn't been asked yet is ... are you still a paying Virgin Media account holder? ... because if not, your old email account has probably been closed down.

Yes. I am still a paying VM customer and my personal email account works perfectly.
