I am using windows 7 and outlook 2007 as client. Email is via imap.
Sometimes when I send an email it disappears. That is to say no copy remains in the Sent folder either on the pc or on Virgin webmail but the text has gone.
This seems to happen randomly as I successfully sent 2 emails this morning with copies correctly retained but the third has disappeared. I don't know if it has been transmitted or just lost.
Is this a server fault or on the pc?
Try sending emails with your email address BCC'd into it. That will assure you, as much as possible, if it gets delivered to the recipient. As for it storing a copy in your Sent folder, I can't help. Good luck.
Thanks: good suggestion.
I have now heard back from some recipients that even though the emails have not appeared in sent or on webmail, they have been received; ie were successfully sent. It seems to be an Outlook error.
If you're using IMAP, it might be worth deleting the account and recreating it. Also remember that on Webmail Sent Mail appears in the Sent Objects folder.
