Is this using the MS Outlook email client or using Outlook.com? What error messages are you getting when you try and send?

What error messages, if any, are you seeing when you send?
Superuser 2017/18 Use Kudos to say thanks Mark answer as "helpful" only when the problem is solved Please don't send me private messages unless I ask you to. I do not work for VM. The advice I give is based on my best understanding of VM policy and practice. You rely on it at your own risk.
I've started a separate thread because I can't send or receive with my @virgin.net email account using Windows Live Mail. It seemed fine up until some time yesterday evening and it is still not working this morning. Seems like VM have derailed the email system yet again.
Same here in Witney. Using Outlook 2007, I get a 'send/receive error - click here' flag in the lower system tray at the bottom of the screen. Expanding the details show that sending is OK, but receiving has the following error:
Task 'Virgin Net - Receiving' reported error (0x80042108): Outlook cannot connect to your incoming (POP 3) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).
It's been like that since yesterday evening; however my other (non-Virgin) Outlook 2007 e-mail clients are fine and I can also access my Virgin Net e-mails using webmail.
