Have you done all this? Have you received any error messages when you try to connect? If so, what precisely?
If that doesn't work -
Assuming you have Chrome on the Tab, log into webmail via www.virginmedia.com
Does that work?
Are you allowing the device to set up the account itself or are you setting it up manually?If automatic then it may be entering the details incorrectly so try manually setting up the account.
