Outlook express: can't send emial from it anymore plus ...

I'm finding it difficult to send emails from outlook express (version 6). Seems to have happened about the time Virgin were upgrading something as well a month or so back

Plus at the moment it will only receive 4 emails at one time (this happened last week), ie, each time i press send/receive i get 4 emails then have to keep pressing to get all my emails and its wasting my time (and its such a boring task)

I don't like using my webmail as I use outlook to organise my stuff as well

Help its doing my head in

Virgin techs tried to help a while back but I spent too much money on the phone

I use windows XP and firefox as my browser

post your OE config (remove the first part of your email address) and then someone can have a look. It's difficult to spot where the error is without that information.

See here for example (which should also work for you anyway):

Re: Outlook express: can't send emial from it anymore plus ...

Hi FrankieBeee,

OE used to have a habit of hanging if it encountered a corrupt email waiting to be downloaded.

Because of the way it used to read ahead you couldn't tell which was the corrupt email. So it might download, say, the same six emails repeatedly but it was the tenth which was corrupt.

I know that this doesn't seem to match your symptoms exactly but it's probably worth logging in to webmail and deleting any dodgy looking emails.

Can you also give us some more details of the problems you are having when sending emails - particularly any error messages which you receive?
