New Server Settings Don't Work

I use Windows Live Mail and have an @virgin.net primary email account.

So I dutifully changed my send settings from smtp.virgin.net  to  smtp.virginmedia.com as instructed and all my outgoing mail fails reporting that my email address does not exist on the server.  So I change it back to the old smtp.virgin.net and it's all working fine again.  Unbelievable!

Can't VM get anything right?

Make sure that you are using the FULL email address as the username.

Thanks Tim but I have been all along.  It's as though my @virgin.net email address isn't recognised by the virginmedia.com server but is still recognised by the virgin.net server.
