And how do you know you are being bombarded with spam if you can't get into web mail? Perhaps you are using an e-mail client? Spam is a persistent issue with VM's mail service but it sounds like your spam settings in web mail (this is where the control is) are not right. When all is working well again check this out:
That will at least ensure that spam goes to where it belongs and where you can deal with it at yur leisure.
