Manage my accounts link is broken in My Virgin

Manage my accounts link is broken in My Virgin……has been for a long time. See below: When clicking on the My Profile> Manage Accounts link I get an Oops something has broken error message.

Meaning I am unable to change my email password, working in IT security this has a potential to compromise my ability to secure my account as and when required.

Phoned your IT Desk about 6 months ago re this and was told it would be fixed soon and they manually reset my password, but trying again today the link is still broken.

Background:

  • I work in IT and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer
  • I have cleared my cache, cookies, history and even used the flush DNS cmd
  • Used diff browsers and machines all with the same issue
  • Can access all other links in the My Virgin site
  • It is a *.blueyonder.co.uk email addy
  • This has been broken for over 6 months and I need the link fixed or a correction made to my account.
  • Googling this issue I can see I am not alone.
  • I do not want to have to call your IT Desk to reset my password each time.
  • Please don’t ask me to call your IT Desk again and go through everything I have already tried, the issue is with Virgin and nothing locally.

Look forward to your response and a fix to the link.

FWIW, I just checked mine and it let me in first time.

What URL are you using, or how are you navigating to it?

Less-than-Super User, going from bad to worse since signing up to Diamond Cable and JANET all those years ago.

On the basis of the diagnostics you have already done, I would suggest this is a back end configuration issue with your account. I would expect it to need referring by the second line team to IT for a resolution. The forum team will be able to check this and make any necessary referral. It will, however, take them several days to get to this thread.

They will pick it up deal with it far better than the phone support staff.

Whilst waiting for a solution you can secure each account by signing in and clicking Profile to change password thus negating the perceived threat.

Thanks for the reply, but if you mean My Profile when signed into My Virgin that is where the issue is occurring.

Welcome to our forum, sorry we did not manage to arrive sooner but luckily Graham was bang on as it is looking like a small data  problem with your profile on one of our LDAP servers. I have raised it to our IT team to investigate further ref P007693477. Once we hear back we will update you but please allow us up to a week.
