Mail delivery failed : returned to sender on emails to tiscali.co.uk

Hi,

I have noticed over the last week that I cannot send emails to tiscali.co.uk email addresses from my virgin.net address.  Two days after sending several emails to the tiscali.co.uk email address I have now received email bounce backs from Mail Delivery System stating Mail delivery failed : returned to sender.  However I can send emails elsewhere to gmail.com and others, but not to tiscali.co.uk.

Does anyone have any idea as to why this is happening and if there's a way to resolve it please?

Hi HowardML, thanks for your reply to my query.

I had a look at the link below, but do not think it is the same problem.  I use web mail rather than Outlook and I log onto my virgin.net account every day.  I send and receive all emails (that I am aware of) but cannot reply to or send emails to a tiscali.co.uk email address.  It seems strange to single out one email provider.  My broadband provider is BT and I have no tiscali email accounts myself.

If your ISP is BT then you need to be aware your virgin.net address is on borrowed time.  Virgin Email accounts can only be used by people with active broadband accounts.

What exactly does the bounce message say?

I know there's been talk about virgin email, but nothing else has been a problem so far.

The email is sent from a daemon : mailer-daemon@smtpq1.tb.ukmail.iss.as9143.net

It looks like TalkTalk are rate limiting Virgin now.

Tbh I think you may be right - it seems to be blocked by TalkTalk because I can receive the emails from tiscali.co.uk but cannot send to them.

I have had exactly the same problem for about 2 weeks now and can't resolve it. If you do sort it out please post!
