I am having problems sending email using a non-Virgin Media email address and SMTP mail server.
I get a message from Thunderbird that my home IP address is blacklisted by dnsbl.sorbs.net.
An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded:
XX.XX.XX.XX is blacklisted at dnsbl.sorbs.net.
Please check the message recipient "XXXXXX@XXXXXX.com" and try again.
However, I am only listed on the DUHL zone so that cannot be the problem.
http://whatismyipaddress.com/blacklist-check shows that I am listed on the l2.apews.org blacklist which is described as a list which only the ISP can get de-listed from.
So please can VM get my IP address de-listed. I do not send spam so it must be someone in the same IP range.
(I am aware I can use the VM SMTP server instead but as I am also having problems using smtp.blueyonder.co.uk this is not currently an option. Besides, my IP address should not be on APEWS).
It transpires that the error message was because I did not configure a secure outgoing SMTP connection. However, I would still like to get off the APEWS blacklist, if possible.
