Email problem

Hi all, to cut a long story short my iMac died on me so i had to get a new one,

after re connecting my email accounts (virginmedia.com and ntlworld.com) on mail all is working fine

apart from it's downloading 70,000+ archived emails onto the computer !!

can this be stopped? or have i got to allow all these to download before i can deal with them?

cheers Dave

Re: Email problem

Hello Dave

Have they finished yet! What incoming mail server protocol are you using? I do not know of a way to stop POP3 but if you not already using it, it may be worth trying IMAP as I believe you can configure the client just to load headers Email Settings for all Virgin Media domains

Thank you

Nicola

Re: Email problem

Hello Dave

Well done, pleased they all came down, not sure about the deleting problem to be honest, I wonder if it is to do with the client delete or purge settings Mail for Mac: Delete messages in Mail or Mail for Mac: Mailbox Behaviors preferences in Mail

Have you managed to crack it?

Nicola
