My email is currently zinger549@ and I tried to change it to firstname.lastname. When I log in it tells me to click the link in the message they sent confirming my new username. I have checked my email and there are messages telling me my new username has been created. When I try and log in with it, it says username/password not recognized. There is not email from Virgin telling me to confirm my new username?.
You cannot achieve what you are aiming to do with the change username option. You need to create a new email address with your firstname.lastname@ if it is available. See this help file: How-To-Create-a-New-Email-Address
The change username option is only for changing the log in name to a third party email address that you already own. It does not change the underlying email address.
