Change notification and communications email

I have an email from Freeserve, which is ceasing service this year

I receive information emails from Virgin to this such as "your week on Virgin"  or "Wifi tips"

I wish to change to a different email address - but, I can't find how to do it?

Anyone help please?

PS in my Virgin profile and account information I see no options for this?

PPS Online chat appears to be permanently unavailable

Re: Change notification and communications email

Before I go into a long reply answer this: are you a Virgin Media broadband customer?
My wife and I have just done this change so we know what to do.

I do not work for VM. The advice I give is based on my best understanding of VM policy and practice. You rely on it at your own risk.

Re: Change notification and communications email

Right tell us what you want to do? Do you want to run your e-mail through Virgin Media now with a VM e-mail address. Do you want to use a non-ISP linked e-mail provider so that if you ever move from VM you won't have to change your e-mail address? This is a course of action I would recommend. It is what my wife has done and what I have nearly done.

Changing your user name? Separate but connected activity from setting up a new e-mail address. need to know what you want to do first about your e-mail.

Re: Change notification and communications email

Hmmm - none of those - all I want is for Virgin to send the marketing mails like "your week ahead", "how to improve your wifi" to a different non Virgin email ;-)

Re: Change notification and communications email

The answer you want is in the drop down list on this page - change username.

https://help.virginmedia.com/system/templates/selfservice/vm/help/customer/locale/en-GB/portal/20030...

Edit I'm sorry I think I have misled you. The option you want is in My Virginmedia - log in with your username and password and then look for My Profile and the contact details change is in there. You can change your username too as presumably you are using a F/serve address which is going to be redundant soon.

Re: Change notification and communications email

No, sorry - it is not there - my Virgin/Forum username and the email I use for them are both fine - it's the email that Virgin use to send marketing stuff to - I have now finally got an online chat and they have changed it for me.

Re: Change notification and communications email

Hello whooshv

So pleased you got it sorted in the end. By the way it may take up to six weeks to fully change as any marketing campaigns already in the system will still go to the old address. Just wanted to make you aware as it may look like we had not done it.

Thank you

Nicola

Re: Change notification and communications email

Thanks Nicola - wondered why I was still getting "Here's your next WiFi Win" to the old address
