OK, just curious.
But still need the answer to this from my previous post:
you show an error message relating to smtp.virginmedia.com, but your screenshots only show your settings for smtp.ntlworld.com, which makes it tricky to guess what is going on!
By the way, it would be agood idea to obscure/delete your username and the first part of your email address in anything you post

Sorry about that, my main account is the ntlworld.com, but cannot send from either.

try the smtp.ntlworld.com WITHOUT authentication
try the smtp.virginmedia.com WITH authentication (still haven't seen these settings...)
You may have to use the edit button to change the setting in the smtp server config.
Here is a T/Bird 9 set up correctly for the virginmedia servers. You can use these settings for both of your addresses, the @ntlworld address included. You do not have to use smtp.ntlworld.com at all (but if you do, then try without the smtp server authentication set)

Thanks for this, have set my virgin account to the settings on the link and this works fine.
The ntlworld account still dosnt work so i will give up on that and just use the virgin when i am away.

despite setting it up identically in every way to the oter account, exception only the difference of username/email address and password?
