Can't move emails to folders

I can no longer move emails to different folders. How can I fix this?

VirginMedia email account. Emails from my inbox can no longer be moved to different folders.

I am going to assume you are using webmail by logging into the VM website.

If so what happens when you try to move the emails? Do you get an error message? What browser are you using? Have you tried a different browser?

We will need a little more detail to be able to help.

I am using explorer. Previously I was able to move from inbox to different folders now I can't. I don't get an error message but when I tick on an item to be moved and say where to, nothing happens.

A lot of time the email account isn't accesible as it is being under 'maintenance' by Virgin media. i may hace to get a new email account with all the hassle I now have from Virgin media.

When using webmail you don't really have folders. The folders are all virtual and are known as labels.

If you are in the inbox or all mail section then they won't move but will have a label applied to them. Do you see a label applied? This makes it easier to find things later by simply going to the label on the left hand side.

This may not be a fault but simply the way the feature works

Yes, there are now labels attached. This means I cannot clear my Inbox without removing emails I want to keep. If there were proper folders I could move emails to those folders and have the Inbox just for incoming/short term mail.

This is a feature of the Googlemail platform that Virgin Media currently uses.

You can change the inbox type from the left hand menu to Unread first so all new mail appears at the top.

Hi all,

The option to move to another folder still exists, you will need to select the mail message you want to move, a drop down option with a folder symbol will appear, when you hover your mouse over it will read "move to".

Select the folder you want to move to and the mail will disappear into that folder.
