I have an old email account that is still active - i.e POP3 / IMAP works, but is no longer tied into an active virginmedia account.
How can I access it via webmail or get it deleted?
For reference, I used it to sign up to this forum.

If the email account is not linked to an active (paid-for) broadband service it is no longer accessible via webmail.
It should also be automatically removed after 90 days though some of these seem to continue long past their expiry date.
VM are working towards removing these types of accounts so there are 3 options available to you:
Whichever you choose though make certain that you update your contacts with a new email address and that you save any precious emails.
