Helpful Answer

192.168.0.1

My broadband service is really slow.  Virginmedia recommends changing to a different channel by logging into 192.168.0.1.

Can't log in - any reason/help appreciated.

Re: 192.168.0.1

Do you use a seperate router with your superhub in modem mode ?

Have you tried a reset on the superhub ?

Someone might have changed it so tom, dick & harry in the neighbourhood are caining it & locked you out

Re: 192.168.0.1

No I don't use a seperate router.  I don't think anyone else is using it but I think trhe caennel is pretty full.

When I try to open 192.168.0.1  as recommended.  I just get a blank screen.

I am getting an internet connection its just that it can be very slow - eg stopping while watching a youtube vid.

Sometimes think I might as well have dialup.

Are you trying to log in via wireless or wired if wireless have you tried via a wired connection ?

Is it slow on a wired connection ?

Have you tried network stumbler or other software to see what channels are congested ?

Are you sure someone else is not using your connection ?

Have you tried a reset on the superhub

Has it always been slow ?

Is your wireless card/adapter on your laptop/computer B or G ?

Re: 192.168.0.1

I have used a programme to check which channel are busy - yes Ch1 which I am on is busy.

I am not connected via cable - its wireless.  Haven't tried via wired.

Don't think anone is using my connection.

B or G?  No idea.

Will try a reset. - But think I did this previously.

metukus,

Here are the simple instructions to follow to convert your superhub back to router mode from modem mode.          Modem mode address: 192.168.100.1

If you happen to do a pin-hole reset on the superhub, don't forget that the superhub will resort to default login details as:      admin   changeme

How do I get my Super Hub out of Modem Mode?

There are two ways to get your Super Hub back into Hub mode:

Un-tick the Modem Mode option

  1. Access the Super Hub’s settings page via the web page shown on the back of the unit. For more information, check Configuring advanced settings on the Virgin Media Super Hub.
  2. Once you've logged in, click Super Hub Settings.
  3. In the Modem Mode section, click the Disable Modem Mode button.

You’ll see a pop-up asking you to confirm the change.

  1. Click Yes to continue.

Your Super Hub will reboot and return to hub mode.

Pin hole reset

You can return the Super Hub to its factory settings and restart it in Hub mode. To find out how to do a pin-hole reset, check How do I reset the Virgin Media Super Hub?

Note: This method will remove any custom configurations you've made on the Super Hub.

For more help, check our Super Hub area.
