Re: Music... What is your favorite?

You can't beat a bit of Rammstein.  The Germans are great at this kind of music

Marilyn Manson is pretty good too.  If you want a mixture of the two check out "Deathstars".  They are from Sweden as are Sabaton.

Hocico are from Mexico.

Hanzel und Gretyl are from the US.

Skinny Puppy and Frontline Assembly are from Canada.

"Santa hates you" from Germany.  The singer is also in Project pitchfork.

"Wumpscut" and "Mushroom head" are quite good too.

I rather listen to music from other countries on Youtube than listen to the same old rubbish on the radio.

I recently came across a couple of great German bands, one called "AND ONE" and another called "De-vision".  They are very much like Depeche Mode if you like that style of music.

Other stuff I like are "Portion Control" they have a great track called refugee which is rather apt at the minute even though its from the early 1980s.

John Foxx is brilliant as is Martin Dupont.  I also like a bit of "Wall of Voodoo / Stan Ridgeway" and good old DEVO.

There are so many good bands out there that never get air play on the radio. If it wasn't for Youtube I would never get to hear of them.

Re: Music... What is your favorite?

Thanks for bringing Unheilig to my attention.  I can't understand all the lyrics but the music is good.

Yes a friend of mine told me about Der Graf, aka The Count who is the lead singer. I listened to a few songs and was hooked. The videos are quite good to watch as well because of his actions. The good thing with the band is that it mixes so many types of music together that there are songs that suit most tastes.

Another German band I like is ASP.  They are a rock band from Frankfurt, which is the team I follow in Germany.

Yes its easy to do so with Unheilig.  There are plenty of songs that then stick in your head, even if you do not understand that much German.  To me that is a sign of a good band.  One problem I find though with foreign bands is many of them actually sing in English which spoils it for me.  I love Tankard because they are also followers of my football team Eintracht Frankfurt, but they always sing in English.
