Who was that? He has a fantastic voice.
You’re going under
Life’s pulling you down
Life’s making you choke
Life’s making you drown

Get away from the pain now
Consuming your soul
I see you fall
I see you lose all control

This is the path to the end of it all
It goes on and on and on
It goes on and on and on

This is the darkness at the end of the world
It lingers on and on and on
Lingers on and on and on

This might sound very strange but I seem to lean towards the blues, mostly the old versions a lot of the most popular artists but I also like the not so well known ones.

Having said that I also don’t mind listening to R&R R&B and Northern Soul as well as Soul.

Artists I like are too many to list.Smiley Wink

Hey Boston you don't sound strange any one who does not listen to Soul music is strange.   All popular music came out of the blues at some point.

The sad fact is there aint many bands to see live these days playing good RnB and soul. But I happened to meet band a few months ago who are from Denver Colorado they have new album out they are gigging in the UK in October and February 2016.

You have to check out 'Nathaniel Rateliff and The Nightsweats"  I saw their gig a few months back  it was the most amazing soulful, bluesy RnB sound I have heard in years.  I was emotionally exhausted after the gig it was heart wrenching music.

Hi “bluessaffliction",

In the 60’s I was working in Birmingham (not Alabama LOL) in and around the centre there was a lot of blues clubs, the mothers blues club (named after the Mothers Of Invention) and the slaughter house blues club

(yes named after the slaughter house it was held in) were just two of them which I and a few friends frequented, there was a lot of bands in that age that played some really good blues, you are right about the rock bands using blues songs as if they were their own.

Thanks for your comment; I was beginning to think I was on my own, as stated in my post.
