Cable My Street

Hi,

Is there anyway of finding out when my set of flats will be getting VM installed? I am about to move in and reluctantly had to go with S*Y... Annoyingly having to pay the same for 40mb's as I would have to pay for 200mb's... (sucks!!!)

Also the block of flats just down the road is cabled up with VM.

James

Re: Cable My Street

Hey James

Thanks for popping back. The last I heard this was with the DNA Lightning Expansion team and they had the details to get in touch with you so my apologies this has not happened.

I've asked them to get back to me with an update to see where we're at.

Fingers crossed I'll hear back soon!

I've popped a reminder in for me to check into this next week for you if they don't.

Thanks again.

Re: Cable My Street

Good morning James

The teams have come back to me and have advised that at present, there are no plans for expansion to the area.

It may be due to lack of interest via Cable My Street or it could be due to costs/ issues with Local Authorities/Wayleave rights for permissions to expand etc. There are a number of reasons why plans are not given the green light straight away when interest is raised.

If you want to drive local interest I'd be happy to arrange to send leaflets to you if you fancy doing some door to door drops? Let me know and I'll arrange that for you if you're interested Smiley Happy

Thanks again

Re: Cable My Street

Hi Karen_A,

How many people would need to register interest for VM to take the install seriously?

Re: Cable My Street

Hi James

I cannot give an answer to that in all honesty as each road/street/development is different with different projected costs and returns and different variables affecting what we are able to commit to. There's no ball park figure as we have to factor in overall cost to the business plus the viability of return. Virgin Media are doing their best to roll out services in as many areas as possible but we do have a budget to work to of course.

If you know that there's say, 50 homes near you without services, I could send leaflets to you. I have them in bags of 50 so can send as many as you need. Even if it's just a handful of leaflets.

Basically the more people who register the more likely it is we will be able to support the area. That being said we do sometimes come across reasons why even with a huge amount of interest, we are hampered by other factors from progressing with connection to our networks.

It's a bit of a non-answer above so my apologies about that but given the experiences I have had since being on the forums and in trying to support customers with their interests I know that we always do what we can to drive this for you but more people registering definitely helps Smiley Happy

Let me know what you think.

Cheers
